It is humanly impossible to have a conversation about the greatest rapper of all-time without including Tupac Shakur. It was 16 years ago tonight that Shakur was taken from us after being shot in Las Vegas following the Mike Tyson/Bruce Seldon “fight” six days prior.

It was Pac’s social consciousness that set him apart from all of his peers. Despite his flaws, his heart was always in the right place…with the people. People think “Thug Life” was just a phase Pac used just to promote himself or sell records. T.H.U.G. L.I.F.E.(The Hate U Give Little Infants Fucks Everyone) was actually a code of the streets that Pac had created in an effort to organize the hood and had he was in the ratification process with gang leaders in communities all over the country to put this into practice.

It is the greatest loss in the history of hip-hop, both musically and culturally.

Listen to Pac drop knowledge in this interview. It is amazing to think he was only 25 when he died, which means most of the interviews of him that are available online were of him in his early 20s. That same empathy permeated throughout his music and touched fans all over the world. The impact this man had on the planet in 25 short years is staggering.

The man was ahead of his time. One of the most insightful and compassionate artists/celebrities the world has ever known. HHSR will never forget…
